June 20 2014 The Taos Blizzard overcame an early deficit with five runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Raton Osos 8-6. Raton scored four times in the first inning and added two more runs in the second to take a 6-0 lead, but Taos answered with three runs in the fourth before completing the comeback in the sixth. Taos finished with 13 hits while Raton collected 10.
Taos second baseman J. Hunt led the Blizzard with three hits, a run and an RBI. D. SanFelippo, Steven Taft and Alex Fera each contributed two hits, while Taft and Fera scored twice. Andrew Bruder added a hit and an RBI. Taos also received doubles from SanFelippo, Taft and Fera.
Raton’s Chris Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, including a home run. Cie Arell and Evan Holton each had two hits, with Holton driving in a run, and CJ Epperson added a hit and an RBI. Raton scored all six of its runs in the first two innings but was held scoreless thereafter.
Taos starter Andrew Bruder allowed eight hits and six runs over five innings while striking out four. Shane Flynn earned the win after throwing a scoreless sixth inning without allowing a hit, and Matthew Garlock recorded the save with a scoreless seventh, allowing two hits and striking out one. Raton starter Tim Sylvester worked five innings, allowing seven hits and three runs with five strikeouts, while Joey Perretta took the loss after Taos scored five times in his one inning.
